Erica started her career in the Swedish fire brigade in 2007 after a two-year training program at the Swedish government fire academy. She worked as a full time firefighter. She spent 4 years on education and training as a fire inspector and worked on fire inspections and fire prevention within the fire department of Stockholm. Since 2013 Erica is employed as a fulltime firefighter by the fire brigade SBFF (southern part of Stockholm city area), with a speciality in fire inspections and hazmat.
She has been a part of the end user consortium of the HORIZON2020 funded EU projects INGENIOUS and ASSISTANCE, both aiming to develop technologies to make first responders more effective, more aware of their surroundings and safer during an incident. Erica is also a CPR instructor and trained for pre hospital traumas.
